Great Things Happening!!!

LCD has been very busy these past few weeks. Our Facebook page is booming and so many lives are being touched by your stories. We wanted to share some of our Facebook happenings with our bloggers.

Every Monday is Survivor Monday and Every Thursday is Conqueror Thursday. On these days we highlight and recognize women who have joined our page who are suffering from chronic disease. This week’s survivor was Briasia.  Briasia resides in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is currently 13 years old. She was diagnosed with Autism and Epilepsy at the age of 2 1/2. Briasia's mother, Bobbi manages her diseases by making sure she takes her meds every day and not missing any of her appointments. Her favorite food is McDonalds French Fries. She loves all kinds of magazines and loves pointing out pictures and naming what she sees. Briasia continues to excel in her studies and has been on the honor roll several times! Bobbi is motivated by Briasia. She loves and takes pride in taking care of her daughter, every day is different when caring for an autistic child but she wouldn't have it any other way. Bobbi knows that Briasia is a blessing from God and is honored that He entrusted her to be Briasia's mom. The advice that Bobbi would give to those who are living with and/or caring for someone with a chronic disease is to take life one day at at time and continue to keep God first!

This week's Conqueror of the Week is Tesa Perry.  Tesa resides in Washington; D.C.Tesa was diagnosed with Lupus at the age of 12 and was the first case of Lupus in the DC Children's Hospital.  Tesa manages Lupus with medication and taking it day by day. Her mom, sister, nephew keep her motivated.  Tesa is also motivated by her angel...Joy (RIP) who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 12 of an aneurysm. Joy was very strong and wanted to be a nurse just so that she could take care of Tesa.  Tesa's favorite food is fried chicken and rice pudding.  Her favorite things to do are to reflect on how far God has brought her.  Tesa loves to shop, bowl, take pictures and most importantly hang out with family since she knows tomorrow is not promised.  The advice that Tesa would give to others that are affected by chronic illness is to never give up, push pass your disease and live, love laugh to the fullest and Help others, if you can!!!

                                                            Tesa

Please keep these two women in your thoughts and prayers as they struggle daily with their chronic disease.

Remember….
·         Hard to explain to someone who has no clue. It's a daily struggle being in pain or feeling sick on the inside while you look fine on the outside. God did not promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way!
